A portrait of the artist

Dressing nicely for professional head shots is only for people who don’t randomly stumble upon a company offering free head shot samples at a conference. Besides, this is me dressing nicely.

Hi, I’m Ray.

I began my artistic journey with works such as Red Crayon on Fireplace and Blue Crayon All Over kitchen Floor. For some reason, they were not well received.

With the help of a degree in art education from SUNY New Paltz and an MFA in illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, I’ve refined my skills a little. To the relief of my family members, my work is now largely contained to paper and canvas.

I’ve set up shop in Western Massachusetts and done oodles of work for cultural sites around the country, mainly National Parks.

Do you have a project in mind? Let’s chat.

I’ve created work for:

  • Acadia National Park

  • Amelia Park Children’s Museum

  • El Malpais National Monument

  • El Morro National Monument

  • Friends of Acadia

  • Glacier National Park

  • Memorial Hall Museum

  • National Museum of the American Sailor

  • Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Site

  • Please Touch Museum

  • Shenandoah National Park

  • St. Croix Island International Historic Site
